Afiach Release Two Benefit Compilations, to coincide with Cardiff Anarchist Bookfair

The two compilations ‘If It Was Easy They Wouldn’t Call It A Struggle’ and ‘Prosecute The Arms Dealers’, are both officialy released on the 20th of February 2016, to coincide with this years’ Cardiff Anarchist Bookfair.

One of the compilations will be raising money for Stop The Cardiff Arms Fair, and the other for Cardiff Defendant Solidarity. Both these causes are very worthy and currently relevant. In the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena, DPRTE will be hosting their arms fair – they moved to Cardiff after leaving Bristol following massive protests. We hope the same will happen in Cardiff, so get involved in resisting the arms fair on March 16th 2016. Cardiff Defendant Solidarity helps and supports people going through the legal system, who need funds. Often for those facing charges, their expenses and fines add up quickly and adds more pressure and worry.

Donate or purchase online, share on your social media sites and come to the Cardiff Anarchist Bookfair or any other ‘Afiach’ stalls to pick up a CD.
100% of proceeds go straight to these groups.

Solidarity with Yusef

Yusef Asad was unjustly sentenced to two and a half years in Prison for defending himself from racists attacking a Palestine March in Cardiff in July 2014. He received the heaviest sentence despite only responding as racists at a pub started the violence throwing bottles, glasses and chairs at the demonstrators, who included young families.

Yusef welcomes letters of support.

Jail Break – All Day Fundraiser for Cardiff Anarchist Black Cross

j13-a5On saturday the 13th of july, Cardiff ABC has organised a one day anti-prison event at the Red and Black Umbrella Social Centre. The event aims at creating a wider awareness and critique of the ever expanding prison society and people’s struggles against it.

The event will run from 1-11pm and is split into two distinct parts.

From 1-6pm there will be space for meetings, discussions, talks, workshops and skillshares, for the most part the discussions will be relatively informal and structureless so as to not stifle creativity and originality. We are asking attendees to not bring alcohol to this portion of the event to discourage all day drinking and encourage clear, sober and respectful interaction.

From 6-11(ish) there will be a variety of music and poetry being performed. There is a suggested donation of £5 for this portion of the
event with any excess after costs going to Cardiff ABC to distribute to various prisoners/defendants that we are in contact with (for more info on this just ask.)

There will be hot vegan food available from the beginning of the event, as well as a variety of relevant zines; all for donation.

Hope to see you there.
